On June 14-18, 2006, the St. Romanos the Melodist Society held its annual English Spring seminar. The Society was founded by church musicians Priest George and matushka Deborah Johnson in order to raise the level of ability and understanding among choir directors and chanters using English as their primary liturgical language. This year's seminar was held in Beltsville, Maryland, and hosted by the Society and Holy Apostles Orthodox Church of which Father George is Rector. Barbara Edmunds and Anna Cartwright of the St. Juliana sisterhood of Holy Apostles provided for all logistical needs to ensure the success of the seminar, which was attended by Orthodox Christians from several states and parish communities.
